K8IROS 8.1 – Brooklyn Sunrise & Sunset
The latest K8IROS 8.1 drop is the result of a very special collaboration with the Parsons Scholars Program. Illustrator and Designer Jahkill Rashad, a Parsons Scholars Alumni and current BFA Parsons School of Design Senior, created the concept, then designed and painted this one-of-a-kind shoe. He was inspired by the beauty of sunrises and sunsets observed at the Brooklyn Bridge in contrast with the hard surfaces and city landscape.
The Parsons Scholars Program is a three-year college access art and design program for NYC public high school students. The Parsons Scholars Program centers people of color from low income backgrounds who are first generation college students, acknowledging the obstacles and the strength associated with these identities.
This shoe was game worn by Spencer Dinwiddie on March 30, 2019, when the Brooklyn Nets played the Boston Celtics at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.
***All proceeds from the auction of this shoe will be donated to the Parsons Scholars Program.
